Hey, I’m Angela.

here for all the mental health clinicians that want to feel more rooted and resilient in their practice.

I am queer neuro-spicy, child of non conformist refugee hustlers.

I am unafraid of the darkness and can sit in the vast uncertainty and be your biggest supporter.

Imagine you’ve come home to your favorite worn out slippers at the door, taken off your jacket, changed into clothes that you only wear at home… the shirt with the one hole in the arm pits and the pants that are so worn that they are kind of see through at this point. You smell dinner cooking and you can’t wait to dig in and share a meal. You sit on your favorite couch, just to catch a breath, and you notice pictures on the wall of you and your besties and it makes you smile. You sink in deeper to the couch with a cuppa boba and a warm pineapple bun as a starter. You feel so safe and warm.

End scene.

What if I said that it was possible to have this in your private practice? This feeling is available to you in the way that you:

  • create and share about your workshops, groups or 1:1 offerings

  • challenge your clients to grow

  • establish/reinforce your boundaries around time, energy and biz policies

  • market and sell your services

This is when you can have the most long term sustainability. This is where you can be most profitable. This is where you can be in touch with your inner healer and make the most impact.

Tap into the deep, nourishing waters of collective healing.

I’m Angela. Your partner in creating a business that will feel as comforting as a warm bowl of congee on a cold and rainy winter day.

Angela, what does it actually look like to fully be yourself in your business? Here’s what it looks like for me:

  • allowing myself to be a learner and a student of the craft and mess up without shame and self blame

  • allowing myself to sometimes be in crisis, have deep personal issues and still show up for clients without having to put on a fake happy face.

  • gather a community of people who surround me with love and support while I am loving and supporting on my clients

  • the ability to get curious about my annoyance and sometimes boredom with a client without blaming or shaming myself in order to see what is underneath the boredom/annoyance

  • the capacity to work through client’s anger towards me or lashing out towards me without feeling dysregulated

  • to be able to be transparent about my policies, reinforce when needed and to show up with zero resentment with every single one of my clients

  • to show up fully myself, in all my quirks, idiosyncrasies, and authenticity and NOT being a blank slate.

  • to have the courage to not have things figured out and to not be in the position of an expert, but to be comfortable being a guide or midwife to others while they birth their own new version of themselves.

  • to not live out of fear or scarcity. to be fully visible and speak on things that are typically taboo or shame filled and to share my perspective unapologetically in my marketing and with my clients.

  • to more fully unmask as a person with ADHD, share my accommodation needs, even with my clients, be unapologetically ME.

You are uniquely you.

Your healing practices may be different than mine. Your therapeutic modalities might be different. Your values and priorities might be different. No matter what, my hope is that you would have a space where you can feel fully at home in yourself as well as in your business.

Being profitable isn’t difficult. It does help if you have intergenerational wealth, privilege and a little bit of time and energy. What is rare is a profitable business that:

  • You look forward to waking up day after day

  • you don’t have fantasies about burning it down and doing something completely different

  • feel stuck with golden handcuffs in— having the luxury of dictating your own time, getting paid a decent amount, but hate the work.

  • gives you room to evolve and stays true to who you are in this moment

  • is part of how you are leaving you unique legacy and mark in this world

  • can be a part of bringing liberatory values in this time of increasing political darkness and uncertainty.

It can be hard, but we can do it TOGETHER.

My practice offers a tiered, class-equitable, pay-what-supports-you pricing.

This pricing structure is reflective of the cost per 50 minute session. You can reduce costs if you decide to pair up with someone else for consultation.

Please keep in mind that if you opt into a lower price, when you can truly afford a higher price, you are limiting access to those who truly need the gift of financial flexibility. If participating in consultation means making short term sacrifices, having to get creative or asking others for support and does not actually jeopardize your safety, we ask you to use those resources before using the sliding scale. This will limit opportunities for others. Being honest and taking the time to explore your options financially helps us grow in this healing work together.

This model is inspired by the “Green Bottle” framework created by Alexis J. Cunningfolk (www.wortsandcunning.com) with modifications by Britt Hawthorne (www.embracingequity.org).

where you are rooted, there you are free

What we will learn together:

  • spiritual practices to bring in your ancestors (known and unknown) into allyship with your biz

  • how to bring more joy and wholeness while you’re working with people who are in distress and deep sadness

  • how to work with “therapist guilt” when parts of you feel like you are charging too much, ending the session too abruptly, being mean when enforcing policies

  • resting as a birthright when the world is ablaze around you

  • bringing all parts of you to your business and practice. Creating space that does not leave for the avoidance of anything taboo, shameful, dysfunctional, etc.

  • parts of you that self sabotage you to finding success in your biz

  • how to market yourself and work through fears of visibility and tendencies to hide

  • not getting pulled into your client’s sense of urgency and need to problem solve

  • what to do when you are bored or feel like your relationship with your client is stagnant

  • how to see that your most difficult clients are portals to the parts of you that are unhealed

  • how to work with clients that YOU DON’T LIKE and who annoy the shit out of you.

  • learning about your conditioning to be a “good kid” put you in direct conflict with your role as a healer- to sometimes interrupt, disrupt, challenge or point out dysfunction.

  • areas in your life that you have overextended yourself and ways to pull it back

  • executive functioning hacks for my fellow neuro-spicy clinicians who just can’t seem to “get our shit together” and “do hard things"

  • grappling with the dark sides of holding power, rank and hierarchy as a traditional therapist and moving towards a decolonizing healing model where hierarchy is flattened, and allowing each individual to occupy their power in a way that is socially responsible and respectful.

  • unlearning the colonial-based teachings that you learned in your graduate counseling institutions and relearning how to practice from a more decolonized lens

  • how to not create your private practice policies (fees, scheduling, etc) and boundaries based on your therapist guilt

It takes a little bit of unlearning of colonial models of healing to feel rooted and steady.

But when you do, here is what happens:

  • You don’t care about looking “professional” and are scared of how that might impact your sense of credibility

  • You are concerned about ethics, but not fearful of being in violation of ethics.

  • You don’t get intimidated with clients that are in a different season of life (much older or younger), have lots of money or very little money, or have a lot of social capital or status or have very little social status. You can work with anyone with a lot of ease

  • You don’t get that panic feeling when you find out that your client has seen you in the wild yelling at your kid or having a fight with your partner. You can rest knowing that you can fully show up with your humanity everywhere you go without the fear of “getting caught” or “losing your credibility.”

  • You are able to create a living that sustains you and your family and has space to be generous towards others in your community.

Whether you are an associate level counselor, social worker, masters level intern in training, seasoned psychologist, psychiatrist, psychedelic assisted coach, somatic practitioner, psychiatric nurse/physician, group practice owner, clinician supervisors/consultants, this work is for you.

What Clients are Saying

"I have been working with Angela for 4 months since graduating and going into private practice. I was looking for an Asian supervisor who was warm, attuned, and direct and hit it off with Angela! I appreciate her strong sense of community, thoughtfulness, curiosity, and openness. I mainly use a relational and psychodynamic approach, and despite her training in IFS, she has accommodated to my therapeutic style which has been immensely helpful to my growth as a clinician. You can feel her passion for helping clinicians grow into their authentic selves! I have been inspired in the ways she leads/operates as a person, supervisor, and clinician. I feel supported by Angela, as well as the community of supervisees she has built. I would definitely recommend Angela as a supervisor! "

Caitlin D., Seattle, WA, USA

“ I started supervision in March 2025 with Angela to deepen my understanding of IFS in clinical practice, especially from someone whose values and lived experiences align with mine. Our sessions have undoubtedly met my expectations: With warmth, authenticity, and attentiveness, they offer a balance of insightful clinical guidance and spacious relational support. She also proactively seeks and welcomes feedback about our work together, honoring different parts in me and supporting my growth. Our work together has also supported me in integrating my clinical learning with cultural/ancestral wisdom. I highly recommend her as a supervisor!

FAQ

  • First things first, don't be a stranger. Stalk my insta @heyangelatam or read my blog or listen to my podcast. We'll start with a free consultation to determine your needs (and if we'll make great collaborators).

  • Please look at the sliding scale self questionnaire. You get to determine where you fit into the sliding scale. For new clinicians with under 5 clients and are just starting off, you can pay me what you can per visit and then when you get more clients, you can pay me your full rate.

  • Yes, I am an approved Washington state supervisor and can work with you, no matter your licensure type, to work towards your hours. If you are not an LMHC associate is your responsibility to find out whether an LMHC can sign off on your hours.

  • Maybe! Most states have licensure requirements that are non clinical and non contact hours/supervision related. Our consultation hours will work towards that

  • Yes and no. Marketing can be a topic of focus, but I don’t take any interns at this time and don’t have a a group practice where I am introducing referrals to my new consultees.

  • In the beginning, we will talk about your goals. We will try to make it as concrete and tangible as possible. When you have met your goals, we can make new goals. When you are done with your goals, we can be done working together. It can be as short as 6 months or as long as you want. I have some clients that work with me for a short time and some that stay with me for years. It’s all up to you.

  • Absolutely! I work mostly pacific time hours so you will have to schedule a time in my time zone. I often will wake up super early in the AM to cater to different time zones.

  • I have had a lot of formal training in IFS (Level 2 trained), SE (fully SEP certified) and PACT (Level 1). I will provide a lot of insight on how to work with folks with various mood and adjustment disorders using these modalities. I have a lot of informal training with relational psychodynamic and I’ve read and superficially learned about other modalities, but I am by no means an expert. I will have a strong leaning towards IFS (mainly) and will seek to empower you to work through your modality as long as it is inclusive of the whole person and fits into the anti oppressive and social justice/liberation oriented framework that I seek to provide. Every modality, since it was created by white men, will be inherently aligned with systems of oppression. I will provide a space for us to question all our modalities and potentially seek to create your own modality that aligns with your values and vision.
